Accessing Tokyo is possible through two international airports, Haneda and Narita. Narita is the main center for international flights with a connection to more than 140 cities globally, 22 of them are in Japan. When you travel to Tokyo by international aircraft, you will most likely arrive at Narita Airport, which is located in Chiba Prefecture. This is not exactly close to Tokyo, and depends on where you live, you will need 60-90 minutes to get there. But don’t worry, because this article will introduce several ways how to get there and which is the best choice for you!

Train
There are two rows from Tokyo to Narita. Keisei Line is comfortable for passengers who head to Ueno. On the other hand, JR Line will go to the main terminal station JR lines such as Tokyo, Shibuya and Shinjuku. Even though local trains are cheaper, you will be packaged with commuter passengers, especially during rush hour (7 am – 9 am – to Tokyo & 6 pm – 8 pm – to Narita) you might want to consider other options.
Keisei line
From and to Narita there are three different types of trains in the Keisei: Skyliner, Access Express, and main lines. Which one you have to take depends on where you are going, how fast you want to get there, and how much you want to pay. The Keisei Line Train (Regular and Access Express) departs regularly and starts running around 5 am and dies right after 11 pm. Skyliner started running around 7.30 in the morning and turned off at around 11:30 p.m.
1. Keisei Skyliner
The fastest connection from Tokyo Downtown on Skyliner. From Ueno Station to Narita Airport and vice versa it takes 50 minutes and will cost ¥ 2,580.
+ All chairs are reserved and comfortable. Luggage space available.
+ This train is the fastest of all Keisei trains.
– This train only stops at Keisei Ueno Station and Keisei Nippori Station.
– Being the fastest, also means being the most expensive

2. Keisei Access Express
The cheapest relative access express of all Keisei line trains. With a few direct connections, this might be your best choice. From UENO Station to Narita Airport and vice versa it takes 1 hour and a cost of ¥ 1,280.
+ You don’t need to pay limited express fees.
+ Direct connection with Shinagawa, Shimbashi, and Nihombashi.
– There is no luggage room and no chairs are ordered.
3. The main route of Keisei
Connection is the latest and often the busiest because the passengers who live in Chiba’s prefecture. From Ueno Station to Narita Airport and vice versa it takes 1 hour 30 minutes and will make you return to ¥ 1,060.
+ This train has the cheapest rates of all Keisei lines, there is no limited express rate.
+ Good connection to several other railroad lines.
– There is no luggage room and no chairs are ordered.
– Being very busy during rush hour.
– Connection at the latest.
– UENO Station> Narita Airport takes 80 minutes.
JR LINE
JR train is one of the most free ways to get to the main JR station in Tokyo; You don’t need to fight for chairs, there are lots of luggage rooms and don’t need to replace the train. If you don’t have a JR Pass or when you want to activate the next time there is another option: N’EX Tokyo Round Trip Ticket. If you hold a foreign passport and travel again between Narita and Tokyo in two weeks, this ticket is recommended. You can buy this ticket at the airport or at JR Travel Service Center at a price of ¥ 4,070.
1. Super Express Train – Jr Narita Express
+ This train stops at JR Mayor Station, including JR Tokyo Station, JR Shinagawa and JR Shibuya.
+ All chairs are reserved and comfortable chairs.
+ Luggage space is available with a key.
+ A large number of trains operate with 30 minutes internal.
– The highest tariff of all trains. Also, the cost varies depending on the season.

2. Jr Sobu Kaisoku Line
JR also offers a cheaper alternative; Kaisoku’s Sobu line. This JR train connects Narita and Tokyo in about 1 hour 30 minutes for ¥ 1,170 and runs every hour. However, this is the slowest and most uncomfortable because it does not offer a seating ordered or luggage rack.
Bus
One of the benefits of taking the bus from and to Narita Airport is to arrive at the entrance of the departure floor. Different places to take available. If you have a bus stop near your hotel, this is your most comfortable choice. However, the trip takes about 90 minutes, the actual trip time depends on the traffic situation. There are several bus companies that offer transfers between Narita Airport and Tokyo Station. Here we mention two options.

This shuttle to: Narita Airport Terminal 1 in Kira -Kira. 70 minutes, Narita Airport Terminal 2 in Kira -Kira. 65 minutes, and Narita Airport Terminal 3 in Kira -Kira. 62 minutes from Tokyo Station.
+ Cost ¥ 1,500 for adults and ¥ 750 for elementary school students
+ This bus operates every 10 minutes between 5 am and 19:00.
+ The earliest bus starts at 5 am and last at 11:30 pm.
– There are only 3 bus stops to take the bus: Tokyo Station, Ginza Station, and Shinoneme Aeon Mae Station.

The most luxurious choice: private car
It is also possible to get a private luxury transfer by car. The driver will wait for you at the pickup point and will take you to the airport or hotel.
